The FLASH project aims to be a game-changer in the European integrated healthcare system with the final goal of creating a healthcare system that is more resilient and more flexible.

Partners

FLASH brings together sixteen partners from nine European countries. The consortium includes universities, research centres, non-profit organization and institutions involved in the organization and provision of healthcare in several European countries.

The project investigates healthcare financing mechanisms across Europe, focusing on budget allocation and financing of health services. It aims to identify factors linking major healthcare system problems to funding, evaluate existing mechanisms, and explore new solutions.

Objectives

FLASH project’s primary focus is to scrutinize and enhance healthcare financing models. The aim is to improve resilience, efficiency, and equity within European healthcare systems. Through a multidisciplinary approach, the project endeavors to provide actionable guidance for European policymakers, steering towards a sustainable and inclusive healthcare future.

1. Defining financing models that address health needs in an efficient and equitable way.
2. Identifying the key determinants of resilience of healthcare systems in order to improve the ability to face extreme events, as well as long-term structural changes.
3. Providing guidance on how better integration of healthcare services could enhance effectiveness and efficiency of healthcare provision.
4. Contributing to a better understanding of existing incentives and to development of new ones.
